Dr Serrurier's experience in breast cancer and reconstruction makes him unique in his approach to Female-to-Male top surgery. He performs a range of different transgender mastectomies depending on the size of the patient, but always tries to minimize the scarring to the chest wall and make the new chest wall look as male as possible. Male-to-Female top surgery is not as simple as female breast augmentation, as there are many factors to consider during this surgery. One often needs to perform a procedure using implants and fat transfers to get an optimum female breast shape. Dr. Serrurier is well-versed in all of these different techniques, and he will advise you during your consultation as to what and why he wants to perform this specific type of surgery.

Transgender facial surgery is an area of treating these patients that is vitally important, and Dr. Serrurier commonly performs facial feminizing surgery both in the hospital and often as an outpatient in his rooms. Facial masculinizing surgery is usually more involved and will often need to be performed in the hospital theatre.

Dr. Serrurier doesn’t perform primary bottom surgeries; however, he works with the transgender units in both Gauteng and Cape Town and often is involved in revisional bottom surgery. He is committed to helping transgender people become the person they were born to be.
